Description

Not all dinosaurs shake things up as much as this dinosaur, named for the rock group Dire Straits (or rather, it's lead singer, Mark Knopfler).

The reason is not very clear without taking a much deeper look at the skull. But this one creature have revised the phylogeny at the base of abelisaurs, helped reshape their origins, and tied several taxa from Africa and India into thois strange group.

The skull is strange, what there is known of it, with a down-turned mandible, and apparently a correspondingly down-turned upper jaw. The legs were short, and the arms were apparently very, very tiny, and the whole skeleton appears to have been highly pneumatic, just like its larger cousin, Majungasaurus.

New remains have been found according to a new paper. I don't know if its just me, but according to those numbers and a new 'ugly' reconstruction featured in the paper...well it just looks different. What's going on here? I did a reconstruction at some point, and Dinomaniac did, too. Ours all look similar, but the new one with the new material found...It just looks strange. Do I have to do a new recon with the new numbers?
