Heads Halfway High

This is not a tutorial.

But I think it is interesting to show what steps I am taking in rendering head reconstructions, and what details I go through, but by the time I realized I could do this, I was already this far into the task, and so what you see is as much as I've gone.

Notes and details were embedded (with comments) in order to clarify some of the odder-looking points. This is part of a broader project and is an extension of my "lips on dinosaurs?" series of illustrations.
