Description
Goyocephale is my favorite pachycephalosaur, and as such I am drawn to this animal in various ways repeatedly. This illustration represents the third (or fourth) time I've attempted to get THIS pose down. And then I had to go and add those little tail-bristles known for some specimens of Psittacosaurus -- just to ruin the piece.
I wanted, in this piece, to draw attention to two things, oft not remarked on when it comes to pachycephalosaurs: First, that the arms are so ridiculosuly short. Not only would they not have been useful to walk on, they very seemingly were useless to effectively graps or grapple with, making them seem extraneous. Second, there were a large set of fangs on both the upper and lower jaws, features previously assumed for heterodontosaurs and commonly fogged over when it comes to basal pachycephalosaurs.
