IF I were to submit to the All Yesterdays contest, this is what I might do. This is a general concept, but embodies what the image would look like, in ink and roughly (not that I might finish this in ink). Sadly, my color sense is WAY off so I'd not be able to color this, though if someone could collaborate on that end it would be awesome and make the image work better.

Edit: Let me clarify that this sketch does, in fact, depict two male Confuciusornis sanctus, two birds in which males sport two long pair of tail feathers but females do not. One male has constructed a nest in which to lure a mate, but in this case seems taken with another male. I will have a more substantial commentary in a short while.

I would be very pleased to color something for you -- either this or something else -- as thanks for your help with my picture.

I like your art a lot.

Lovely sketch. :D

I could try and color it, once you have a more finished drawing. :)

I will have to think about whether I want to finish it or not.

Just Published an article on Confuciusornis and sexual dimorphism. It seems that only males would have the long tail feathers
